About Us

Susan Mindoro, MPH,RD,CDE

My passion for nutrition comes from a personal experience that occurred more than 20 years ago. I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia. Changing the way that I ate, changed the way I felt, thought and behaved. I'm not a health food fanatic and by no means have a "perfect" diet. I can relate to people who want to change the way they eat to improve their health and I know to how difficult it is to make life long changes. I have a Bachelors of Science in Human Nutrition and Foods and a Masters Degree of Public Health in Nutrition. I'm a Registered Dietitian working in an outpatient setting and have been a Certified Diabetes Educator for 10 years. With my husband and kids, I'm challenged just like you to provide healthy and enjoyable meals. I'm a busy mom but enjoy an active lifestyle including running, skiing, hiking, reading and traveling. I have a passion for innovative nutrition tools and for providing nutrition resources for people who may not have access to dietitian services both of which led me to pursue developing this website. Our goal is to provide practical changes that can be implemented for a lifetime of good health.

Kristine Thornham, MS,RD,CDE

Nutrition is one my hobbies, so 10 years ago it seemed logical to pursue a Masters of Science degree in Nutritional Science. I am also a Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetic Educator, and Certified Weight Management Specialist. With work experience in a hospital setting, academic setting, and for a large national healthcare company, I have learned how nutrition and lifestyle changes are made. In addition, to be a member of the American Dietetic Association,  I am also a member of the Nutrition Entrepreneur and Dietitians in Business and Communication Practice Groups.

When I am not working or thinking about how to creatively help spread healthy nutrition messages, I am spending time with my family, or snow-shoeing, hiking, baking, bargain shopping, and being with friends. Like many of you, I struggle with the balance of work and play. And I know that I am better prepared to handle this struggle when I am eating right and moving more.  I believe in making a few changes at a time that yield the greatest result. Eventually when you are eating better you are feeling better too. The payoff is an increased quality of life.
